A $200 CPA with difficult qualification can pay less than a lower CPA with clearer terms. Compare the trigger, exclusions, reporting and payment timing before comparing rates.
CPA and qualifying customers
CPA means a fixed payment for each customer who meets the agreement’s definition of a qualified acquisition. In an iGaming deal, that may require a first deposit, a minimum amount, wagering, a permitted country and other checks. A registration alone may not count.
Example: If the agreed CPA is $100 and 12 referred people qualify, the calculated CPA amount is $1,200. This is arithmetic, not an estimate of how many people your channel will bring in.
Revenue share and NGR
Revenue share is a percentage of the revenue base defined by the contract, often net gaming revenue (NGR). The definition of NGR and its deductions can differ by operator. Ask which bonuses, taxes, fees and adjustments are taken out before your percentage applies.
Example: A 30% share of $2,000 in contract-defined NGR would calculate to $600 for that period, subject to its other terms.
Hybrid terms
A hybrid combines CPA and revenue share. Add the two only after checking that each side has qualified, that the same customer can count for both, and whether any minimum guarantee is offset against performance.
How long does revenue share last?
“Lifetime” is a contract term, not a universal rule. Check whether it lasts while a referred customer is active, while your account remains approved, or only for a set period. Ask how customers are tracked, when NGR is final and when payments are made.
Fixed fees and deliverables
A fixed rate pays for a specified stream, post or package. An event appearance, collaboration or travel can also be scoped. A “three times deposits” makegood needs a separate negotiated definition and time limit; do not assume a creator can guarantee deposits.
Negative carryover
Some agreements carry a negative revenue balance into later periods. Others reset it. Ask for the exact clause and an example showing what happens after a month in which referred players win more than they lose.
What makes a deposit qualify? Which countries count? How is NGR defined? Is there negative carryover? When is reporting final? Who approves the creative and disclosures?
